Today I'm sharing another site that impresses.  When a website claims to be "the best way for students to master non-fiction," they have quite a bit to deliver.

Newsela provides non-fiction, timely articles that are differentiated by reading level.  The articles cover topics around the globe and provide leveled reading from 2nd grade to 11 and 12th grade.

And, it's more than just current events.

You can search articles by:

-content (including health, science, the arts, etc.)

- reading level (most come in 4 or 5 levels)

-language (at least 300 in Spanish)

- reading skill (text structure, main idea, etc.)

To make the most of this site, consider setting up your own class.

You can:

- group students and track progress over time

- assign online both articles and quizzes

- share your annotations with students

This one is a keeper!  If you are currently a NEWSELA user, I would love hear your tips!
