It is officially summer!  I hope you are finding some rest and relaxation time.  My summer been quite busy the first couple of weeks, but slowing down is definitely on the agenda!

I posed a question recently on my Instagram. (You can follow me here.)  What is your focus for the summer?  For some us, the r and r thing is the focus.  And, good for you!  For others of us, we are plotting and planning our way to the next school year.

If the second is more you,  DIY PD this summer probably sounds like an intriguing idea.

Please understand that I’m not talking about sitting through another training.   With the access we have today through technology, our learning has no limits.  So, set your course for any exploration you wish, and I promise there are many learning adventures to be had from the comfort of your own home!

Below I’ve shared just a few of my go- to exploration points.

Teaching Channel

If you know me at all, you know I love this site.  There is truly something for everyone and every topic.

Readwritethink

Explore high quality resources, lesson plans and more for reading/language arts. I always find a jewel here.

Buck Institute for Education

Is PBL on your learning agenda?  If so, this is the site for you.

Mindshift

I can truly get lost here…in a good way!  The timely articles challenge me and take me down new paths.  If you have been hanging around Minutes Blog for any length of time, you have seen me link to their articles.

The Wild Card

So, this isn’t a website.  But, I have heard that teachers are loving this book.  It explores seven steps to creative breakthrough for educators.  And, who doesn't want a creative breakthrough?  So, I added it to my list.  Has anyone read it who can comment?

So, while you are lounging by the pool, why not take charge of your own PD this summer?   Are there any other sites you would recommend?

Happy exploring!

:)  Brandy
